Plant  & Tree Dietas/Attunements

August 12-19, 2026

If you are feeling the call to slow down, step out of modern noise,

and listen deeply—to the land, to the plants,

to your own spirit—this attunement may be for you.

For 7 days, you will live simply on the land and enter into a sacred relationship

with one local plant or tree ally.

Through solitude, ritual, daily dream sharing, and plant communion,

you will remember ways of knowing that live in your bones.

Why Plant Attunements?

Across every continent, long before books and screens, humans learned directly from plants.

Plant attunements (often called dietas) are ancient practices passed through ancestral

lineages worldwide. This work is not intellectual. It is embodied.

What You Will Be Doing

For 7 days, you will be in intentional solitude.
The 8th day is for integration.

You will:

  • Drink daily tea prepared from your plant or tree ally

  • Eat very simple foods to quiet the body and senses

  • Step away from your usual routines, responsibilities, and distractions

  • Spend your days resting, listening, journaling, and dreaming

  • Receive guidance through sensation, insight, memory, and dreams

  • Each day you will have an opportunity to share your dreams.

  • This is how the medicine predominately works.

In the stillness, the plants speak.

Your capacity to listen—deeply and clearly—will grow.

Your Plant Ally

You will work with the spirit of one local plant or tree throughout the attunement.

You may be intuitively matched with a plant ally, or you may request one:

White Pine · Yarrow · Rose · Willow · Mugwort

Each plant carries distinct teachings, medicine, and ways of working.
(Descriptions are listed at the bottom of this page.)

This relationship continues long after the attunement ends.

This Experience Is For You If…

You may feel a clear yes if:

  • You feel called to connect with the spirit of local plants and trees

  • You want this work to support your healing journey

  • You feel drawn to ancestral or earth-based ways of knowing

  • You know this experience must happen in person, on the land

  • You are ready to slow down and go deeper—beyond information

You do not need prior plant training.
You do need willingness, humility, and reverence.

What This Is Not:

  • A social retreat

  • A group workshop with constant facilitation

  • A place for distractions, substances, or entertainment

This is a sacred container for solitude, listening, and remembrance.

The Land & Container

You will spend 8 days in a cedar forest, held by the rhythms of the land.

What’s included:

  • Opening ceremony & land acknowledgment

  • Rustic camping & outhouse

  • Simple foods and meals provided

  • Plant baths

  • Spacious time to rest, journal, and dream

  • Closing ceremony

After the attunement, you will receive a free 45-minute 1:1 integration call with Julie Gaia

to help you weave what you received into your daily life.

“To learn to see, to learn to hear, you must do this—go into the wilderness alone.
For it is not I who can teach you the ways of gods.
Such things are learned only in solitude.”
— Don Jose Matsuwa

Testimonials

I had the opportunity to attend Julie's 8 day silent plant attunement and journey with Yarrow.

I was a little nervous to spend that length of time in silence and for the limited food, but I found both a lot easier

than expected. I was never uncomfortably hungry and it was such a joy to really savor our meals when they would arrive.

I can see how having that amount of time in solitude is necessary to create the space needed to experience distance from the

external noise and go within. The space felt safe and supportive and the days allowed for a lot of rest, play and observation.

What a gift it is to live simply, move slowly and follow the pull of creativity and intuition for many days in a row.

There was some ebb and flow through challenges, for sure, but I felt very held. Julie offered such beautiful

sacred space and support while providing our plant medicine and was always there to make sure we were comfortable and

cared for throughout the day and night. For me, Yarrow provided transformational insights about the many layers of boundaries

and how to stay true to my authentic self. I am very grateful for this time and I left feeling grounded, inspired, and as if

I was experiencing life through fresh senses. K.K.

"I participated in a Dieta with Julie and it was a really wonderful week to disconnect

from tech and reconnect to nature and myself. I was spoiled with food that was nourishing and light. Brief conversations with Julie about my dreams which was enlightening and I loved the flower baths I received

early onto ground myself. All of the wonderful little delights allowed me to relax and absorb the plant wisdom

and medicine. It’s truly a great experience to isolate yourself in that manner and still be able to get pampering.

I recommend it to anyone who has the opportunity!" Anonymous.

Plants and Trees you can work with.

yarrow Julie Gaia

Yarrow /Achillea millefolium

Yarrow — Dieta Invitation

Yarrow comes as a teacher of protection, clarity, and sovereignty.

This is a plant for those who want to strengthen their boundaries, whose hearts are open, and whose energy moves easily into the worlds of others. Yarrow is a companion for the sensitive ones—those who feel the land, the room, and the unspoken currents between people.

In dieta, Yarrow teaches how to strengthen the energetic field without closing the heart. It tones the aura, clarifies what belongs to you, and gently returns what does not. Through this work, Yarrow helps you remain rooted in your own energy while moving in service to others.

Yarrow is an ancient wound healer. As you sit with this plant, physical and unseen wounds may surface—not to overwhelm, but to close. The plant works to bring containment, to stop bleeding where energy, emotion, or vitality has been leaking away.

This is a dieta for those called to heal, teach, counsel, or walk between worlds. â€‹As you enter relationship with Yarrow, you are invited to listen deeply. The plant teaches how to touch cosmic consciousness while remaining fully embodied. It shows that true protection is sovereignty—knowing your own field, standing firmly within it, and meeting the world from that place.

White Pine/ Pinus Strobus

White Pine — Dieta Invitation

White Pine comes as a medicine of the heart.

This magnificent tree is known as the Tree of Peace in the Haudenosaunee culture, a living teacher of unity, forgiveness, and remembrance. Native to this land, White Pine carries an ancient instruction: that peace begins within.

White Pine invites you into a deeper relationship with your own heart. In dieta, this tree teaches self-love that is honest and embodied—not perfection, but compassion. It reminds us that we are human, that we will falter, and that our worth is not diminished by our mistakes.

White Pine helps soften self-judgment and brings light back to places burdened by guilt, shame, or self-blame.

This is a plant for those learning how to forgive themselves. White Pine teaches acceptance of one’s faults without clinging to them, allowing the heart to remain open while releasing what no longer needs to be carried.

Physically, White Pine is a traditional medicine for the lungs and respiratory system. It supports the clearing of mucus and is used for colds, coughs, flus, and respiratory infections. It cleanses the blood of man-made poisons, strengthens digestion, and restores vitality to bodies that have been burdened or depleted.

In dieta, White Pine teaches how to breathe again—fully, gently, and without fear. It supports the ability to remain peaceful within, no matter what is happening around you.

Mugwort /Artemisia Vulgaris

Mugwort — Dieta Invitation

Mugwort grows at the threshold—often found in front of the homes of witches and wise women. She has been loved and worked with for thousands of years across cultures and continents. In Chinese medicine, Mugwort is used in moxibustion to warm the body and move stagnant energy, restoring flow where life force has become stuck.

Mugwort carries a wild green witch energy. In dieta, she works to banish old stories, ancestral patterns, and stagnant narratives that no longer belong. She brings the vitality of early spring—fresh, untamed, and full of becoming.

This is a plant of the Moon. Mugwort holds a receptive, intuitive quality that opens awareness in the dream realms. She supports lucid dreaming, visioning, and the remembrance of dreams upon waking. More importantly, Mugwort teaches how to carry dream wisdom into waking life—integrating insight rather than escaping into the unseen. She helps balance the transition between night and day, anchoring airy or dissociated parts of the self back into embodied, daily reality.

Mugwort soothes like a wild Grandmother—one you may have wished for as a child. She wraps you in her green wings and holds you steady, calming the nervous system and offering a sense of belonging and protection.

Primarily a woman’s medicine, Mugwort supports all flowing processes of the body. She aligns menstrual cycles with lunar rhythms, brings warmth and fertility, and nourishes creative life force. As a crone ally, she may be called upon to alchemize creativity, intuition, and wisdom gathered over a lifetime.

Physically, Mugwort is a bitter tonic and digestive aid. She helps expel worms, calms the nerves, and offers mild sedation. She is traditionally used for cystitis, colds, and coughs, supporting the body through times of depletion and transition.

Mugwort is an ally for a lifetime. She helps awaken your own wild, innate nature and supports the healing of ancestral lineages. Through relationship with her, you may remember who you were before the stories—and who you are becoming now.

Pink Roses in Bloom

Rose /Rosa

Rose — Dieta Invitation

Rose comes as the medicine of love.

She grows all over this beautiful planet, offering her fragrant blooms along ocean shores, in wild places, and in the gardens of people everywhere. Wherever humans and earth meet, Rose finds a way to grow—reminding us that love is both ancient and ever-present.

In dieta, Rose is strengthening and quietly inspiring. She brings a felt sense of heaven on earth—pleasure for the eyes, warmth for the heart, and a softening of hardened emotions. Rose awakens sensuality not as performance, but as presence. She is an expression of the divine feminine, restoring confidence to those who feel insecure in their sexuality or who carry shame within their bodies.

Rose is a tender healer of deep wounds. She teaches that vulnerability is not weakness, and that love can be both gentle and powerful. Her thorns remind us that boundaries are essential—that we can protect ourselves while still blooming fully into our expression.

Physically, Rose tones and nourishes the skin from the inside out. She supports tissue repair, clears blemishes and chronic skin issues, and helps prevent infection. Her medicine clears toxins, strengthens immunity, and acts as a sweet balm for the whole being.

Rose has an uplifting and restorative effect on the nervous system. She helps soothe grief, calm agitation, and return the body to a state of wholeness. In her presence, the fragmented self is gently gathered back together.

To sit in dieta with Rose is to remember love as medicine.
Not romanticized, not conditional—
but embodied, boundaried, and whole.

Willow/Salix

Willow – Dieta of Water, Grief, and Renewal

Willow may help to those who feel weak, depleted, or frequently ill.
Her medicine restores strength through softness, bringing harmony and balance back into the body, heart, and spirit. She is a tree of fertility, regeneration, and the gentle uncovering of old grief.

Willow is of the water element. She grows where the land is wet and receptive, her roots loving to be immersed. In dieta, she works deeply with emotional waters—grief carried from this lifetime and others. She teaches that even when we break, we can be replanted. Growth may take time, but life continues. Flexibility, she shows us, is often wiser than resistance.

Willow is a powerful ally for those holding bitterness, resentment, or victim consciousness. She reveals where blame has taken root and gently guides one toward responsibility, awareness, and choice. Through her, we learn to reshape our destiny rather than remain bound to old stories of misfortune.

She carries the memory of persecution. Willow was once used to burn witches, and those drawn to her may feel the ache of injustice, betrayal, or being “still on the pyre.” In dieta, she soothes this ancestral and soul-level pain. She is an alchemist, transmuting sorrow and suffering into wisdom, compassion, and strength.

Physically, Willow is a traditional pain medicine and analgesic. She cools excess heat, reduces fevers, supports detoxification, and calms inflammation. She quiets excess fire in the body and can soften an overactive libido, restoring balance.

Willow teaches grace, self-care, and adaptability.

Through surrender rather than force, she helps you reclaim your power—
not by hardening, but by bending, flowing, and enduring.
